Lice :-(

Internet is really slow tonight so I’m just gonna put some interesting observations I’ve had about Honduras here.
1.      Everyone walks soooo slow here! It doesn’t help that my legs are longer than most of the people, but it’s so hard to slow down and stay with them!
2.      All drinks are sold in plastic bags, besides the name brand sodas like coke. There’s no “bottled” water, it comes in a little baggie! But it’s super cheap, 2 lempiras which is like 10 cents, and it’s cold so good. Same thing with the honeydew juice and cantaloupe juice- plastic bags.
3.      I have lice L I’m not sure how I got it since I’ve been using the tea tree oil from Kerri, but I didn’t use it for the first week so maybe I got it then. The kids today spent a long time picking out the bugs- I know this sounds gross but it’s a regular activity they do for each other haha. Anyway they said there weren’t tons in my hair and they were small. Some were already dead and some were alive. So maybe the tea tree oil killed some… idk. I’m honestly not sure what the affects or consequences of lice is either. I’ll look it up but hopefully it’s just an annoyance, nothing more. Yuck.
4.      The driving here is crazy! People pass cars whenever they feel like it, which didn’t surprise me from my other experiences on the road in foreign countries. But the shocker was that the passing car actually has the right of way! There was a couple times I thought there would be a head on collision as a car came over the hill driving towards the passing one. But when they see that the car is in their lane, they just pull to the side or slow down.
5.      There’s tons of cattle around here. They made me nervous at first with their huge horns, but now I’m getting used to walking super close to them down the road. We had to wait to get off the bus today while a bunch of them passed by with their owner.
6.      Gas is expensive. The bus yesterday actually stopped at a gas station with all the passengers on it! Haha. From my estimation, it’s about $3.50 per gallon. But I could be wrong.
I think that’s all for now. Happy Sabbath!
